Land Acknowledgment

We acknowledge that Sub Chakra events take place on the lands of the Treaty 7 territory, traditionally known as Moh’kins’tsis to the Blackfoot, Wîchîspa to the Îyâxe (Stoney) Nakoda, and Guts’ists’i to the Tsuut’ina. This land is home to the Blackfoot Confederacy, comprising the Siksika, Kainai, and Piikani First Nations, as well as the Tsuut'ina and the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations, including the Bearspaw, Chiniki, and Goodstoney First Nations, and the Otipemisiwak Métis Government, encompassing Districts 5 and 6.

We acknowledge the original caretakers of this land and recognize the historical and ongoing impacts of colonization on Indigenous peoples. We appreciate the privilege to gather here and acknowledge the profound significance of this land to Indigenous communities.

We understand that acknowledgments alone are not enough. True reconciliation begins with each of us committing to listen, learn, and act as called upon by the communities we live in and alongside.
